Producer and songwriter James Ellis Ford has announced the release of his debut long player with new single, ‘I Never Wanted Anything’.
With an impressive call list of artists to note his previous work (Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode, Foals, Gorillaz), Ellis Ford has tended to maintain full focus on the production side of creating an album. But now steps on to the stage to deliver his own work.
“I was making tracks and thinking, ‘Maybe I’ll send this to Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys).’ It genuinely did cross my mind that I could make an album with a lot of guest features, but it just felt braver for me to do it on my own.”

Ellis Ford is also one-half of Simian Mobile Disco and a touring member of The Last Shadow Puppets. Surprisingly, this is his first step forward into the solo space after years of work to present his debut album, “The Hum”.
The first single ‘I Never Wanted Anything’ references the actualisation of possibilities in life as you get older, but being comfortable with it. A track that is triumphant sounding about a topic that is occasionally anxiety-inducing.
