Delicate Steve has announced a new album titled “After Hours”, which is his fifth studio release and comes with the drop of the first single, ‘Street Breeze’.
“After Hours” marks a particular moment in time for Delicate Steve’s desire to ‘revel in the simple joys of plugging in and playing’.
“When you have no destination in mind, you become open to the possibility of ending up anywhere.”Delicate Steve
The artist teamed up with other musicians on the record such as bassist Shahzad Ismaily (Lou Reed, Tom Waits, Bonnie Prince Billy) and percussionist Mauro Refosco (David Byrne, Atoms For Peace) to help flesh out the arrangements for the tracks.
“This song [Street Breeze] captures the feeling of stepping outside your door and onto the street, walking through a city with no destination in mind. When you have no destination in mind, you become open to the possibility of ending up anywhere. Usually that ends up being a good thing.”
“I wanted people to find comfort in the music, to find a home in it, because that’s what it did for me. It helped me finally find a home in the sound of the electric guitar.”
After a number of years touring with acts such as The Black Keys and working with others, he spent a year unplugged in the desert of Tucson, Arizona before picking up his vintage Stratocaster that inspired his new set of songs.
New album “After Hours” out via ANTI- on 8 July.
