As his debut album is released today, M. T. Hadley shares the video for his latest single, ‘Janet’.
Originally released as a song in summer 2016, the track was written the following year on a piano at a friend’s party. “As other guests sat in bedrooms, drugging themselves into the next day, I dragged myself up with this song,” Hadley told Crack Magazine in an interview recently.
The video was filmed in Cornwall in the April sunshine with directorial and editing assistance from Ciaran Wood and Jacek Zmarz.
The sentimental montage captures family holidays spent with Janet and Hadley’s brother. Observing a moment in time when was simple and real.
For his album launch and a first full show, M. T. has announced that he will be bringing a nine-piece band and a huge sound system to The Others in Stoke Newington on 13 November for two shows.
M. T. Hadley’s debut album Empty will come out his own label Empty/[PIAS] on the 8 November.
