Laura Jean has shared the next single from her forthcoming LP “Devotion”, stepping into more of a synth-pop dynamic than her previous single release ‘Touchstone’.
‘Touchstone’ was a keyboard oddity that gained approval out of its quirky beats. It was also the beginning to the addition of an 80s pop sensibility that is becoming evident on the new record.
Speaking of the album, Laura says that “Devotion is about how a lonely coastal childhood filters into a contemporary adult life built hundreds of miles away. I wrote this album for my mum, middle sister and myself as we were at that time – eccentric, romantically-unfulfilled teens and a stressed out single mum trying to have a love life.”
