Music Read: Win

Competition | Win tickets to Kormac’s special Vicar St show at St.Patrick’s Festival

Irish DJ, producer, and composer Kormac will bring his show – Kormac: Equivalent Exchange – to Dublin’s Vicar Street on Sunday 18 March.  This show will see a collaboration of Irish Chamber Orchestra, Kormac’s Big Band, plus some 30 other artists to perform pieces of music and art on the night including the likes of Loah, Jack O’Rourke, and MASER to name but a few.

The show is part of the St. Patrick’s Festival in Dublin from 15 – 19  March. Featuring specially commissioned events in the lead up to and after St. Patrick’s Day based on the theme of “HOME” for the 2018 edition.

So what is an ‘Equivalent Exchange’?

Well according to Kormac and the festival; The principle of ‘Equivalent Exchange’ states that in order to gain something new you must first sacrifice something of equal value. Kormac has applied this to his own writing process, forgoing his usual way of working but also in how he is working with the artists he is collaborating with for the show, bringing them songs and ideas at an earlier stage than he normally would. In this way, he is giving up his usual level of control over the songwriting, allowing the collaboration to develop something completely new.

Tickets are priced €24.90 via ticketmaster.ie (Incl. booking fee) but you can win a pair here on RobMoro.
