Dublin’s first Rock Camp for Girls, which will run later this month, has opened applications for their new programme that will offer music tuition, workshops and more.
Running from 27 June to 1 July. The camp is aimed to promote music in a “non-competitive environment” for its 20 attendees between the ages of 18-24 years old.
The programme is outlined as to help younger musicians form a band, write a song, learn an instrument, and later perform it without requiring those participating to have experience.
Coaches and volunteers include musicians active in the Irish music scene such as Niamh Farrell (Ham Sandwich), Naoise Roo, Bitch Falcon, and more.
The camp is run by Girls Rock Dublin (GRD), part of the rock camps (Girls Rock) started in Portland, Oregon, back n 2001.
Sponsored by MusicMaker, Sound Training College, Some Neck Guitars and Full Aeon, the first GRD camp will be hosted in Dublin music facilities Sound Training College and Temple Lane Studios.
Applications are now open at www.girlsrockdublin.com/the-camp/.
