Music | Review: “The Ride” by Jay Jacobson

Jay Jacobson’s 5th studio album, “The Ride” features pop ballads and melodies on most tracks. Second track ‘I Lived in The Ride’ is sounds like Linkin Park doing a like for like cover of an Owl City or Adam Lambert song.

It’s a very pop focused album in its production.  The lyrics too straight forward in some songs.  Sometimes the tracks lack a full sound.

However, it’s well made with some Glee-full strings throughout.  It wouldn’t be your average album in terms of radio playlisting, but would get a good play on Children’s TV, an example would be ‘Taking The Long Way Home’.

Not too easy to produce an album like this by yourself, Jacobson does that and it works for him as his previous 4 albums would tell you.
