Michael Franti released his tenth studio album “All People”  in 2013. But May 2014 sees Franti bring the tour to Galway’s Roisin Dubh and Dublin’s Whelan’s the following night.

Franti and his band Spearhead are known for the communal spirit they create with their live shows. The singer regularly brings down the barrier between the performers on stage and the people in the audience; whether venturing into the crowd to slap hands or pulling fans up to dance, sing and play along with the band.

In the same week his 2009 single “Say Hey (I Love You)” gained popularity, after selling over 2- million downloads, Franti’s appendix ruptured and put him in the hospital close to death. It was another moment that changed his perspective on songwriting, leading to the triumphant tone of “All People “

‘All People’ follows the album ‘The Sound Of Sunshine’, which was the highest Billboard Top 200 Album Chart debut of Franti’s career.. Michael Franti is ‘recognised as a force in using music as a vehicle for social activism’. In the mid-’80s, Franti formed Spearhead following his punk band The Beatnigs and the hip hop based The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy.
