Music | Red Queen Contest release debut album

Red Queen Contest have announced the details of their debut self-titled album, which is set for release on October 18th.  The band have also announced a headline tour, which will see them stopping off in Limerick, Dublin, Cork and Mullingar.  The album follows the release of the first single NOW (Before It Gets Old).

The four-piece from Navan are Cormac O’Keeffe, Paul Clarke, Paddy Smyth & Barry Fitzgerald.  Before the Red Queen Contest name change 3 years ago, they were previously known as indie outfit ‘The Dolldrums’.

The album was recorded and produced by Adrian Garry (Bell X1, Delorentos) at Keely’s Lane Studio in Oldcastle, Co. Meath. The band started out by writing and recording roughly nineteen songs, the album has now been whittled down to ten after working on it for over a year.

Tickets are on-sale now for their Irish tour in October.
