Monad, led by Eshchar Nachmany, will release the EP ‘Gift’ in August, alongside the new single ‘UDB’ featuring a video directed by Monad and Ben Palhov, marking the next step in their musical journey.
The new single ‘UDB’ by Nachmany features analog synths, vapor-trail percussion, and reverb-laden vocals, capturing a sense of intimacy and distance. Nachmany describes the song as a reflection of feeling detached from his life, documenting that experience in real time.
In its suspended tension, ‘UDB’ evokes a state of emotional resistance – refusing to fully disengage, even when detachment feels like the easier path.
“UDB” creates a distant, numbed atmosphere compared to “I See You,” evoking a sense of ambient dread and spectral qualities, as if observing a fire through glass, even while maintaining a steady pulse.
Taken from Monad’s forthcoming EP ‘Gift’, UDB offers a glimpse into an artist refining his voice while pulling deeper into abstraction.
“This EP is an evolution and a step up for Monad, and in a sense a refinement of a sound I’ve been looking for for a long time. This is the most honest and direct Monad has ever sounded and I’m really proud of it. The collection of songs on Gift sums up a very specific period in my life and looking back on it, it’s almost kind of a weird documentary of sorts of what was going on in my life progressively for like, 12 months.”

Monad’s new single ‘UDB’ is out now with all proceeds from sold on Bandcamp will be donated to Standing Together, a Jewish-Palestinian movement advocating for peace and equality in Israel-Palestine.
