Divorce unveils a video for ‘Lord’ coinciding with their album release, focusing on subconscious creative decisions to remain authentic.
The video for the track follows the band as they embark on running a restaurant, however, things take a turn once their cravings take over, as they struggle to manage the kitchen and satisfy their increasingly demanding customers.
Discussing the inspiration behind a song, co-vocalist and guitarist Tiger Cohen-Towell says the track’s inspiration comes from the vulnerability and strangeness of seahorses and referencing Pulp’s “Pencil Skirt” for its unique expression of sexual desire. The songwriter expressed a desire for the lyrics to convey a sense of pathetic longing rather than villainy, emphasizing the teenage mindset that resurfaces with infatuation, leading to a surprisingly joyful sound in the track.
UK instore performances for the band are happening now, with their full UK/EU headline tour starting later this month. Tickets for both the instore performances and the headline tour are available on the band’s website.
“Drive to Goldenhammer” out now via Gravity / Capitol.
