Sam Fender shares a new track from his forthcoming album, “People Watching”, alongside an emotionally charged video for ‘Remember My Name’.
‘Remember My Name’ is the last track being shared from Sam’s upcoming album *People Watching*, which is out next Friday.
Fellow Geordie, Dave Johns, known for his performance in “I, Daniel Blake”, takes on the lead role in the video, effectively exploring the themes of love, companionship, and the inevitability of loss. Johns along with actress Philippa Briggs, brings depth to their shared roles. The direction by Hector Dockrill contributes to a thoughtful and engaging presentation of these poignant themes that Fender captures with his lyrics.
“Remember My Name is a love song dedicated to my late Grandparents – they were always so fiercely proud of our family so I wrote the song in honour of them, from the perspective of my Grandad who was looking after my Grandma when she was suffering from dementia. The video is a really special one for me, I’d like to thank everyone involved.”
