Listen | WILDES and St Francis Hotel unveil new single ‘In The Floodlight’

New collaborative EP Kopfkino out 19th February

WILDES and St. Francis Hotel are set to release their new track ‘In The Floodlight, the final preview of their EP “Kopfkino”, on 19 February. The EP will also include the title track and Are You Gonna Speak?” released in December.

In their new EP, “Kopfkino,” the duo explores the mind’s power, covering the spectrum from introspection to escapism drawing inspiration from 80s synth-pop bands.

New track “In The Floodlight,” a captivating art-pop piece that explores personal growth and self-discovery. Much of which WILDES alludes to;

“This song chronicles adolescence into adulthood, and the many versions of ourselves that live and die on the way to uncovering our true nature. Each verse represents a different period in my twenties, as I grew and fought against who I wanted to be, and who I was told I should be. Despite all of the experiences that change our outlook and values in life, there always remains a little seed of who we were in our youth, before life’s complexities appear, and for me that is deeply reassuring.”

New EP Kopfkino finds the two artists combining – not for the first time – with St Francis Hotel responsible for producing WILDES’ acclaimed debut full length ‘Other Words Fail Me’.

WILDES is the project of Anglo-Irish musician Ella Walker, while St Francis Hotel is the alias of Irish producer Declan Gaffney, known for his work with Little Simz, Michael Kiwanuka, and others.

WILDES and St Francis Hotel’s new EP “Kopfkino” is out on 19 February. The new track, ‘In The Floodlight,’ is also out now.
