Fontaines D.C. today release a music video for 'Bug', taken from their acclaimed fourth album ROMANCE

Fontaines D.C. have released a music video for ‘Bug’, taken from their acclaimed fourth album “ROMANCE”.

Directed by Academy Award® winner Andrea Arnold (American Honey, Fish Tank, Cow), this striking video confidently reinterprets Arnold’s upcoming film “Bird” with some unseen scenes included.

Out in early November, the film features Barry Keoghan, Franz Rogowski, and Nykiya Adams. Additionally, Carlos O’Connell from Fontaines D.C. makes his big-screen debut, along with the band’s music being a major part of the soundtrack.

“I’ve loved the Fontaines since I first heard them. Some music just sits in your bones like it always belonged, like you know it already, like it’s part of you. It’s why I asked to use ‘Too Real’ and ‘A Hero’s Death’ for my Bird film. Their music felt like it belonged there. In my world. They were immediately generous in letting me use those tracks which was just fucking brilliant. That generosity brought energy which gets poured into the life of the film. I am grateful for all the positive energy that comes when you make a film. Extending the images and my Bird world for the Bug track felt like the most natural thing in the world. Like part of the same thing. I wouldn’t have done it had I not felt that. And I would hardly do it for anyone”

The Dublin band have been keen of showcasing their creative prowess in visual format since the release of “Romance”. In April, they kicked off the new record by unveiling the first track, ‘Starburster’ complete with an impressive music video by Aube Perrie that introduces a captivating conceptual world within an unfolding metaverse. The following single, ‘Favourite’, shines as a spectacular finale for the album, accompanied by a self-directed video that highlights the band’s artistic vision. Furthermore, they teamed up with filmmaker Luna Carmoon for their dynamic tracks ‘Here’s The Thing’ and ‘In The Modern World’.

Fontaines D.C’s fourth album “Romance” is out now on XL Recordings.
