RobMoro TV | HANA VU – ‘Care’

Hana Vu

HANA VU has announced the details of a new album titled, “Romanticism,” which is due out in May this year along with the release of the first single ‘Care’.

“Romanticism” is the follow-up to the 2021 debut album “Public Storage”. With it, VU and Jackson Phillips joined forces to create a cluster of tunes that resound with the jangly guitar indie rock of the 80s, while also incorporating layered synth bass that we hear on ‘Care’.

“I wrote this song staring out the window and wondering if everyone thinks about things as much or more or less than I do. I also thought about whether it matters or not. Thoughts and feelings could be an eternally individual experience.”

The music video, directed by Maegan Houang, references Artemisia Gentileschi’s paintings “Judith Beheading Holofernes” and “Judith, her maid and Holofernes head”. It effectively builds on the Romantic-inspired images portrayed in the album.

The video follows VU’s murder, reversing the moment of discovery by the authorities but not necessarily focusing on the probable assailant but rather attention as to whether they cared enough to commit the act.

“Romanticism ” will be released on 3 May 2024 via Ghostly International.
