RobMoro TV | NewDad – ‘Nightmares’

NewDad

The latest track from the Irish alternative/rock band NewDad, ‘Nightmares’, has landed.

It is the third track from their upcoming album, “MADRA”, which premiered on Clara Amfo’s Radio 1 show, is a powerful track that deals with the struggle against temptation.

Zack Arlo and Oliver Day directed the Nightmares video, taking inspiration from the profound influence of the Irish language on the band’s music.

“The Irish word for Nightmares is tromluí, meaning trom (heavy; burden; oppression) + luí (lying down; state of rest). We took this as inspiration for the concept of the Nightmares video, given how much the Irish language has inspired the band. As Julie escapes the mundanity of her bedroom, her fate is sealed with the bite of a forbidden plum.”

The song, according to Julie Dawson of NewDad, is about the conflict of wanting someone or something you know is bad for you. It’s about the struggle of trying not to fall for them, and wishing to hate them instead of loving them dearly.

The band will also hit the road for a UK and Ireland tour in Feb/March 2024.

Debut album “Madra” is out on 26 January 2024 via Fair Youth/Atlantic.
