Royal Blood paves the way for an exciting summer for their fans as they unleash their new single, ‘Mountains At Midnight’.

The track is the first release from their fourth album ‘Back To The Water Below’ and shares its lead single ‘Mountains At Midnight’.

The self-produced record is due out in early September, giving them ample time to road-test the new material before that time comes.

“I think this record was about letting the ideas take us where they needed to go. If there was a song that was calling us to do something that wasn’t typically what we’re known for, that’s where we’re going to go. The songs are in charge and if that means having a record that’s quite varied that’s what we’re going to go for, rather than trying to shoehorn everything into the same world. As a result, we’ve made a record that’s a bit of a rollercoaster. It’s everything we could do.”

Ben Thatcher, Royal Blood.

‘Mountains At Midnight’ reverts somewhat to the core of Royal Blood’s sound that made them unique. Driven, weighty levels of Mike Kerr’s bass from start to finish, dutifully complimented by the rhythms of Ben Thatcher’s drumming.

The duo stops off at a number of summer festivals, although they’ll be guesting at some stadium shows as guests to Muse also. With all of that going on, they’ll have some shows of their own to headline in Nottingham, Newcastle, and finally, a pinnacle homecoming headline show on Brighton Beach.

‘Back To The Water Below’ is out on 8 September 2023.
