Ibibio Sound Machine have revealed the third track from their new album “Doko Mien” with “Guess We Found A Way”.
In addition to the previously published “Tell Me (Doko Mien)” and “Wanna Come Down”, the sweeping “Guess We Found A Way” showcases influences that make up “Doko Mien”.
The group uses both English and Ibibio, the Nigerian language from which the band name derives, in their lyrics, creating a language that is entirely their own. The goal is to convey feelings through music without dependence on language.
“Doko Mien” is out on March 22 on Merge Records.
