Brian Casey.
Alternative songwriter Brian Casey is set to release his second EP “Rain Songs” on 20 November, which is penciled in before he goes on a short tour in Ireland. Listening to his new material, there are some stark influences that work surprisingly well.
Casey’s EP opens with ‘Believe’, a track that sounds soft and smooth, perfect for rainy days in bed. The next track goes back to a solo style though, as ‘Times River’ opens, you would think it was a Nick Mulvey b-side. ‘Funerals is a joyful and upbeat number, although the lyrics are bittersweet.
This EP certainly doesn’t lack a range of influences, fresh approach from Brain Casey, the live shows should be very interesting.
Pre-order “Rain Songs” on iTunes, briancaseymusic.com and Bandcamp from Nov 6th
Irish Tour Dates:
Cyprus Avenue, Cork – Thursday 27 Novemeber
Whelans, Dublin – Wednesday 3 December
Monroes, Galway – Friday 12 December
