Culture | Tower Records and Workman’s Club line-up for Culture Night

The Workman’s Club and Tower Records have a number of events this evening as par of Culture Night on Friday, 19 September.  Culture Night features hundreds of events across Ireland and overseas, with arts and cultural organisations offering free events for you to enjoy!

The Workman’s Club on Wellington Quay will be kicking off at 5pm with an Open Mic Night in the Venue Bar hosted by Dublin Writers’ Forum.  Readers of all ages, experience and genres are welcome to join in on Culture Night. Every writer will have five minutes to give us a poem or a song, a short story or an extract, a sketch or a short play.

Following that, Fathers of Western Thought will return to The Workman’s Club to perform their musical interpretation of ‘Ulysses’ from the ‘Re:Joyce’ project beginning at 9:30pm. Following that DJ Ed Smith will be spinning tunes from his Today FM show Ed’s Songs Of Praise.

Tower Records on Dawson St will have a Silent Disco, kicking off from 5pm and will also have pop up performances and sets by Moxie and Culture Night ambassador Miss Kate.

There will also be food and drinks available in the Tower Café to keep you going! Plus, we will be screening Lou Reed’s Berlin & 20 Feet from Stardom
