Following the announcement of an Arthur’s Day replacement, Guinness unveiled a new music programme Guinness Amplify. This is where emerging musicians in Ireland and Northern Ireland are given support and opportunities to take to the stage in pub venues across Ireland over five weeks starting in September.

A few established acts will also be turning up at various gigs in pubs across Ireland and Northern Ireland. To date the line-up includes; Kodaline, Ellie Goulding, Walking On Cars and Daithi. New to the line-up additions include Bastille, Disclosure and Jess Gylnne. Bands and musicians have uploaded their music to www.guinnessamplify.com too! so they can be booked by venue managers across the country.

Speaking about the Guinness Amplify entries to date, Lisa Fitzsimons, Guinness Marketing Manager said;

We are delighted with the response so far from bands and musicians.  Over 500 acts, representing an exciting mix of music genres have uploaded their music to the site to date.  We’ve been blown away by the quality of the talent and are really looking forward to Amplify Live kicking off in September when we will see the acts take to the stage in pub venues around Ireland and Northern Ireland.’

Speaking about the announcement, Bastille said;

We are really excited to play such an intimate gig in an Irish pub and be on the bill with some great Irish bands. Guinness Amplify is providing a great platform for new artists to gain exposure, experience and a fan base.’

The music programme has four key components each designed to cater for the different needs of emerging talent.

The event will run from Thursday through to Sunday across 5 weekends, kicking off on the 11 September in Leinster and will rotate around Ireland, focusing on a different region each week over the course of the five weekends.

Guinness Amplify Studios offer 60 days of free studio time, will be offered to musicians, as chosen by an expert panel, to record, or rehearse, in studios located around Ireland. In addition, the Guinness Amplify Workshops, are a series of intimate music workshops around the Island of Ireland will be developed and delivered by First Music Contact and will feature music industry experts. Places at the workshops will be offered to musicians on a first come, first served basis and those interested should log onto www.guinnessamplify.com for further details.

Following months of live performances, studio recording, rehearsal time and workshops, the top acts, as decided by the expert music panel, will get the chance to perform at Guinness Amplify Live Stages – 5 showcase events in some of Ireland and Northern Ireland’s most renowned music venues in February, 2015.

The Guinness Amplify expert panel includes, David Kitt, Jonny Quinn, Nialler9, Sinead Troy and Stuart Clark all of whom have experience to share with emerging talent in Ireland.
