A new live music project is hitting Dublin this August, as Select Sessions kick off Thursday 14 August.
The event which will run fortnightly on a Thursday after the first show, will take place in Dublin City Centre venue 4 Dame Lane. All Select Sessions will also be audio recorded and made available for download online.
Gig with a difference
Apart from the usual gig routine, audience members will be granted “a unique and exclusive Q&A session” with some of the best Irish and International music acts before the acts perform their Select Session gig. Q&A sessions will be hosted by various guest hosts from music blogs, magazines, and radio.
No tickets will be issued for the events, with the first one being free entry and the others involving a small cover charge.
The launch will be free entry, with the first 30 people in after doors open at 7.30pm getting a free beer or cocktail. The featured act on the launch night will be Youth Mass supported by No Bread and one more act to be confirmed.
Thereafter there will be a small cover charge on the door which will entitle audience members to an exclusive free download of the Select Sessions recording when it is available online as well as a night of great entertainment, exclusive drinks promotions and nibbles.
Every month two charities will be nominated and a portion of all revenue made from downloads that month will be split equally between the two nominated charities.
Artist/Audience Q&A sessions will also be available to download free of charge.
