Set in the grounds of Shankill Castle, Paulstown, Co.Kilkenny. Light Colour Sound is a new festival with a line up full of new and established artists of music and spoken word taking to the stages beside one another on 4 & 5 July 2014.
Despite some cancellations on the music bill due to illness and other unforeseen circumstances, the line up is still holding its own with acts like And So I Watch You From Afar, Cathy Davey, Jerry Fish and many more.
Getting there
JJ Kavanagh run a number of services to Paulstown’s Silverweir pub and the small town itself. You will have to request the stop, but timetables can be found here on the coach operator’s website.
Bus Eireann’s no.7 service sometimes takes the Paulstown route, but not always so do check before hopping on. The timetable can be found here.
A special festival shuttle for €10 return will be run by JJ Kavanagh from Kilkenny City, departing from St John’s Church (located at the top of John Street, opposite MacDonagh Train Station) to the Bus Stop Paulstown and return from Paulstown will be from Bus Stop opposite the drop off point.
The nearest train stations are Muine Bheag (Bagenalstown), then Kilkenny and Carlow 15mins either side on the Dublin to Waterford line.

What’s on?
Apart from the music and spoken word, there will be food and beer tasting via the many stalls on site. O’Hara’s will operate bars and a quota of a personal allocation is also allowed.
As mentioned, acts gracing the stages over the weekend include: And So I Watch You From Afar, Cathy Davey, Jerry Fish, O Emperor, Raglans, JAPE and more.
HMV will also provide a pop up shop with music from some of the acts over the two days.
Tickets
Those under 12 go FREE, under 17s get reduced price tickets (€45) and adult tickets are priced €95. There are a number of day ticket options available too. For more on campervan tickets visit the festival page here.
Camping is priced at €10 per person over the weekend. Boutique Camping options are also available.
