103.2 Dublin City FM have announced a new weekly radio show in association with Musicmaker and the Sound Training Centre. Musicmaker Live aim to showcase some of the best in Irish and international music with an in-store session each week.
Dublin band Otherkin are the first act up and will be broadcast at 6pm this Saturday evening.
The show will be presented by Dublin City FM’s Colm Hanley, who will also interview each act as part of the show. Production will be carried out by Sound Training Centre too, providing bands with a high quality sound from each show.
Mick Hanley, C.E.O of Dublin City FM had this to say on new venture: ‘’Dublin City fm are delighted to partner with Musicmaker and the Sound Training Centre, two companies that are to the fore in the music industry in Dublin and who like ourselves are committed to helping and encouraging Irish artists and bands’’.
Nigel Kenny of Musicmaker added: “We are thrilled to be able to further promote and highlight Irish talent through this weekly broadcast from our store. This is a thriving period for the Irish music scene with so many amazing bands coming through all the time and Musicmaker Live on Dublin City FM will have the very best every week.”
The Sound Training Centre’s Shane Fahey was also on hand to speak about the new show: “The students of the Sound Training Centre (STC) are delighted to be involved in the MusicMaker Live shows. Our roles for the shows are to do front of house, all the recordings and mixes for the shows so they are ready to be aired on Dublin City Fm. We have worked with Musicmaker on various projects before and we have a great relationship with them so we are happy to help out where we can. Having our the recordings played on Dublin City FM is also very exciting and we can’t wait to get started”
Musicmaker Live is one of the new shows added to 103.2 Dublin City FM’s new programming schedule including new music genre programmes. ‘The Veldt’ with George Pardoe (Tuesdays 11pm) ‘Latin Prestige’ (Fridays 10pm) and ‘Country to Rock’ (Saturdays 9pm)
Two new talk programmes have also been commissioned for broadcast, ‘Making Dublin Happier’ presented by Jolanta Burke (Thursday 1.30pm) and ‘The Book Club’ with Hannah Tuthill –Hogan and Siobhan Mc Guire (Fridays 11am).
