Theatre | Blunt Fringe productions plan to make to make the world go round

Belfast theatre company Blunt Fringe Productions have announced details of musical production of ‘The World Goes Round’ at the Lyric Theatre in January 2014

Taking place from the 14-18 January 2014.  ‘The World Goes Round’ is expected to be a show filled with humour, romance, drama and melody.  Five rising stars of musical theatre will also perform in the show, which will feature songs made famous by Broadway icon Liza Minnelli in shows like Cabaret, The Act and Chicago.

Blunt Fringe are a new production company in Belfast, who are kicking off things with ‘The World Goes Round’.  Founder Claire Murray started the company to provide a ‘professional platform’ for many musical theatre actors and those who emigrated from Northern Ireland.

Founder Claire also adds: “We export a wealth of talent who leave Northern Ireland’s theatre industry to pursue global ambitions, and we want to entice them back now and again to perform to a home crowd.”

Featuring the songwriting of John Kander and Fred Ebb, the show will also feature a cast of actor musicians, who have performed on national platforms and the West End.

Lydia Jenkins (Honk; Spelling Bee; Soloist on T-Mobile ‘Welcome Home’ Commercial).

This production is directed by Aislinn Clarke with musical direction by Sean Pol McGreevy and Nicholas Boyle.
